I hope that my participation in the MRCSE will help build my understanding of Sustainability and how I can implement it into my community. I also look to share the experiences of our work thus far at the University of Illinois.

Resources and ideas to connect, sustain and inspire sustainability thinking and action in my job, at the University of Minnesota (sustainability education coordinator), in my civic role on the City Council in Falcon Hts., at church (theology and the environment group), in my neighborhood organization (we have a plant exchange- that is a start!) and last but not least, at home and with my family. I'd like to find support for my mixing all of these aspects of my life togethehr approach to life/work/vocation.

Looking forward to sharing ideas and inspiration with kindred spirits who believe that children can not be expected to take care of the earth if they've had no real relationship with it. My passion is to connect even the youngest children with the natural world in very concrete ways so they care enough to want to preserve it for their children...

I am the co-chair of our Environmental Action Committee and also teach Environmental Biology and advise our Environmental Club. In addition our college has started a new initiative to become more sustainable. I feel this conference and group will be a valuable tool for all of these projects.

I hope to gain insight on solutions and steps that address universal environmental problems through surrounding myself with individuals with a diversity of talents, skills and opinions. My interest in this organization is to listen to as well as share ideas with others related to developing a sustainable, healthy living environment. My personal goal is to create a society that values sustainable living where its citizens are educated stewards of the environment.

I hope to connect with people and their ideas about how to use knowledge on sustainability to create actual communities that are models of right living. By "right living," I mean living in harmony with the earth and all of its inhabitants.

I hope to network with others interested in renovating the educational system to teach all of the earth's inhabitants how to live sustainably. Individually our efforts, while important, may seem meek. Collectively we can change the world.

I hope to gain insight and new perspectives regarding communicating the principles of sustainability to a broad audience. I hope to observe and collect the stories shared at the workshop and weave these narratives together as a way to help document and build a shared vision of achieving a sustainable society.
