What I Hope to Gain from My Involvement with the MRCSE...

I am the co-chair of our Environmental Action Committee and also teach Environmental Biology and advise our Environmental Club. In addition our college has started a new initiative to become more sustainable. I feel this conference and group will be a valuable tool for all of these projects.

Questions I would like to explore with others

I want to see what activities other schools are using. I want to know how other schools are making changes, how they make community connections, what they consider priorities, etc.?

Gifts and/or expertise I have to offer the MRCSE

I come with lots of biological and ecological/environmental background. Have experience with how committees work (what does and does not work). Some experience with working with local agencies, volunteer groups, and organizing community and college activities.

I teach a number of class that have a tie to sustainability so I want to learn the new information and cutting edge technology. My goal in many classes is for students to change their behavior to become more environmentally friendly and see that 1 person and grass roots orgs can make a difference. I am also involved with initiatives at my college to become more sustainable and want to see what other schools or groups are doing.
